What earns a place here
Egyptian design deserves a bigger audience than it gets. We started Cleopatra Closet to give it one, and the UAE was where we began. Everything on this site passed the same three tests.

Quality over quantity
We would rather carry ten brands we trust than a hundred we don't. Every label here is chosen for how it's made, not how quickly it sells. If a piece won't outlast the season it was bought in, it doesn't make the cut.

Material honesty
Cotton that is actually cotton. Leather that softens instead of peeling. Brass, silver, hand-cut stone. We ask every brand what their pieces are made from and where it comes from, and we pass the same answer to you.

Made by Egyptian hands
Behind every piece is a workshop, a family trade, or a maker who learned the craft from someone before them. Carrying their work is the whole reason we exist, and buying it is what keeps that work alive.
Where this is going
The UAE was the first stop, not the destination.
Beyond the Gulf
Cairo to Dubai was the first route. Riyadh, Doha and London are the next ones. Egyptian design should not need a plane ticket to find. We currently ship worldwide.
More makers, not more stock
Growth here means adding workshops, not adding shelves. Every season we want a new name on the site that nobody outside Egypt has heard of yet.

One day each product page will carry the maker's name, the town it came from, and the craft behind it. You should know whose hands made the thing you're wearing.
